Behind Enemy Lines: Spiritual Warfare and the Battle for the Kingdom of Heaven

4/19/2026
In this powerful message, Scott Mitchell teaches the biblical reality of spiritual warfare and what it means for believers to live “behind enemy lines.” Scripture reveals that this present world is under the influence of Satan, operating through spiritual powers and human systems. This lesson explains how the kingdom of heaven has been taken by violence, why our battle is not against flesh and blood, and how the believer is equipped to stand through the armor of God. Scott also clarifies the critical distinction between the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God, showing how believers are already part of a spiritual kingdom while awaiting Christ’s return to establish His rule on the earth. This is a call to stand firm in truth, proclaim the gospel, and remain faithful until the King returns. Key Topics Covered: What it means to live “behind enemy lines” spirituallyHow Satan operates as the “god of this world”The violent takeover of the kingdom of heavenWhy our battle is not against flesh and bloodThe role of principalities, powers, and spiritual wickednessThe armor of God and the believer’s only offensive weaponThe difference between the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of GodHow believers are called to “occupy” until Christ returnsThe future binding of Satan and restoration of Christ’s kingdom Key Scriptures (KJV): Matthew 11:12Luke 16:16Ephesians 6:10–182 Corinthians 10:3–5Luke 4:5–8Psalm 115:162 Corinthians 4:3–5Romans 1:18–25Daniel 10:12–20Matthew 21:33–43Luke 17:20–21Luke 19:11–14Matthew 12:28–29Revelation 9:1–3 Closing Thought: Believers are not called to take back the world through force, but to stand in truth and proclaim the gospel in the midst of spiritual opposition. Though darkness presently influences this world, its authority is temporary. Christ will return, bind the enemy, and establish His righteous kingdom. Until that day, we stand equipped with the Word of God, faithfully serving behind enemy lines. The Battle of Gog Decoded Part 3: When Does the Battle of Gog Happen? - Episode 278

4/13/2026
In Episode 278 of the Bible Mysteries Podcast, Scott Mitchell and John Potts conclude their three-part series on the Battle of Gog Decoded by examining one of the most important—and often misunderstood—questions: when does this prophecy actually take place? Building on the foundation laid in Parts 1 and 2, this episode focuses on the timing of the Gog and Magog events described in Ezekiel 38 and 39. Rather than relying on speculation or modern assumptions, the discussion carefully follows the sequence of Scripture to identify key markers that reveal when this battle occurs. A central point in this episode is the distinction between two separate battles of Gog—one that takes place before the tribulation period and another described in Revelation 20 at the end of the millennial reign of Christ. By comparing these passages, Scott explains why these events cannot be the same and how their differences help clarify the prophetic timeline. The episode also highlights a critical turning point in Ezekiel 39: after this battle, Israel will know that the Lord is their God. This moment marks a spiritual awakening and restoration that has not yet occurred, indicating that the prophecy remains future. Scott and John also explore the idea that this “battle” may not be limited to a traditional military invasion. Instead, they consider whether it could involve a deeper form of conflict—one connected to identity, deception, and the separation between true and false Israel. Drawing from biblical patterns such as the Samaritans, Jacob and Esau, and the concept of tares among the wheat, this discussion opens the door to a broader understanding of what this event may represent. This episode challenges listeners to move beyond surface-level interpretations and to consider the full scope of what Scripture reveals about the last days, God’s sovereignty, and the restoration of His people. Key Scriptures (KJV) Ezekiel 39:22–29Ezekiel 38:23Hosea 5:15Isaiah 59:20Revelation 20:7–10Matthew 13:24–30 Topics Covered Timing of Gog and MagogTwo distinct battles in ScriptureDifferences between Ezekiel and Revelation 20Israel’s future recognition of the LordGod hiding His face and restoring His peopleThe concept of true vs. false IsraelTares among the wheatSpiritual vs. military interpretations of prophecyThe prophetic timeline leading into the tribulation Takeaway The battle of Gog is not just about nations—it is about God revealing Himself to His people. Understanding its timing requires careful attention to Scripture, not assumptions based on current events. The Battle of Gog Decoded (Part 3): When Will Gog Be Defeated and Israel Restored? The Earth Out of Course: Why the World Is in Chaos and God’s Judgment Is Coming

4/12/2026
In this message, we examine what Scripture reveals about the condition of our world—why it appears unstable, confused, and increasingly chaotic. The Bible describes this condition as the earth being out of course, a result of both spiritual deception and mankind’s rejection of God’s truth. We look at Psalm 82 and God’s judgment against the “gods,” or fallen angels, who failed in their role and instead led humanity into darkness. This deception has contributed to a world filled with violence, confusion, and moral collapse—conditions that mirror the days of Noah. This lesson also explores how humanity has transgressed God’s laws, changed His ordinances, and broken the everlasting covenant, leading to a defiled earth under a coming judgment. Yet in the midst of this, God offers a way of escape through Jesus Christ. Though judgment is certain, so is God’s mercy. He is not willing that any should perish but calls all to repentance before the coming Day of the Lord. Key Scripture References (KJV) Psalm 82:1, 5–7 “God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods… They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.” Genesis 6:11–13 “The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence… for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.” Isaiah 13:11, 13 “And I will punish the world for their evil… Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place.” Isaiah 24:5–6 “The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.” 2 Timothy 3:1–5 “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come…” Romans 1:21–25 “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God… and changed the truth of God into a lie…” Acts 17:30–31 “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent.” Acts 26:18 “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God…” 1 Timothy 2:3–6 “Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” 2 Peter 3:9–10 “The Lord is… long suffering… not willing that any should perish… But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night.” John 3:16–19 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…” Topics Covered What it means that the earth is out of courseThe role of fallen angels in spiritual deceptionWhy humanity walks in darknessParallels between today and the days of NoahTransgressing God’s laws and changing His ordinancesThe coming judgment of fireThe power of Satan behind global confusionGod’s call to repentance in the present ageSalvation through Jesus Christ as the only escape Takeaway The chaos we see in the world is not random—it is the result of a deeper spiritual problem. Scripture reveals that the earth is out of course due to deception and rebellion against God. Yet even now, God offers hope. Through Jesus Christ, anyone can be delivered from darkness and spared from the coming judgment. Don’t wait. Today is the accepted time. The Battle of Gog Decoded, Part 2: Who Is Gog and Where Is Magog? - Episode 277

4/6/2026
In Episode 277 of the Bible Mysteries Podcast, Scott Mitchell and John Potts continue their study of the Gog and Magog prophecy by taking a closer look at Ezekiel 38 and 39—focusing on the identity of Gog, the land of Magog, and the timing of these events. With increasing speculation about modern conflicts being tied to this prophecy, this episode moves beyond assumption and carefully examines what the Bible actually says. Building on Part 1, the discussion emphasizes the importance of letting Scripture define its own terms rather than forcing current events into prophetic passages. A key focus in this episode is the distinction between two separate battles involving Gog. By comparing Ezekiel with Revelation 20, Scott explains why these cannot be the same event and how one appears to occur prior to the tribulation while the other takes place at the end of the millennial reign of Christ. The episode also explores the meaning of key names such as Meshech, Tubal, and Magog, addressing common claims that attempt to directly link these to modern nations like Russia. Instead, the teaching highlights their historical and geographical context, pointing toward regions associated with Asia Minor while cautioning against oversimplified conclusions. Another significant element discussed is the supernatural nature of God’s intervention. This is not a conventional war—God Himself defeats the invading forces, demonstrating His power in a way that causes the nations to recognize Him. Yet, unlike the final battle described in Revelation, a remnant of the invading force remains, raising important questions about the role this event plays in what follows. The phrase “those who dwell carelessly” is also examined, offering insight into a condition of false security that characterizes the last days. This description invites believers to consider not just geography, but spiritual readiness. This episode continues to build a careful, Scripture-based understanding of Gog and Magog—reminding us that prophecy is not meant to be driven by speculation, but by the Word of God. Key Scriptures (KJV) Ezekiel 38:18–23Ezekiel 39:1–7Revelation 20:7–10Genesis 10:2 Topics Covered Gog and Magog in Ezekiel 38–39Two distinct battles of GogDifferences between Ezekiel and Revelation 20Identity of Gog and the land of MagogMeshech and Tubal in biblical geographyMisinterpretation of modern nations in prophecyGod’s supernatural intervention in battleThe meaning of “dwelling carelessly”Prophetic timing and the last days Takeaway Understanding Gog and Magog requires careful study of Scripture, not assumptions based on current events. Why Jesus Had to Die: God’s Plan Before the Foundation of the World

4/5/2026
In this Easter message, we examine a question many have asked but few fully understand—why did Jesus have to die?Scripture reveals that the answer reaches back before creation itself. God established a plan of redemption before the foundation of the world, knowing that sin would enter through rebellion and that salvation would require a perfect sacrifice. This lesson traces the biblical record from eternity past through the fall of Satan, the creation of man, and the entrance of sin into the world. It reveals the distinction between the earth given to man and the world system influenced by Satan, and how a legal challenge led to the need for redemption through Jesus Christ. We also see that the mystery of the cross was hidden from the powers of this world. Had they known what Christ’s death would accomplish, they would not have crucified Him. Yet through His death, burial, and resurrection, God fulfilled a plan that had been established before time began. This message brings clarity to the purpose of the cross and calls each listener to consider their own response to the gospel. Key Scriptures (KJV) Ephesians 1:4–7 “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world… In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins…”1 Corinthians 2:7–8 “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery… which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”1 Peter 1:18–20 “But with the precious blood of Christ… who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world…”Revelation 13:8 “…the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”Genesis 1:1–2 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth… And the earth was without form, and void…”Isaiah 14:12–15 “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning…”Ezekiel 28:14–16 “Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth… till iniquity was found in thee.”Romans 1:25 “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator…”2 Thessalonians 2:13 “God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation… through belief of the truth.” What You’ll Learn Why Jesus’ death was planned before the foundation of the worldThe mystery that was hidden from spiritual powersThe difference between the earth and the world system (cosmos)The fall of Satan and the origin of rebellionWhy man was given dominion after the angelic rebellionHow sin entered the world through choice, not accidentWhy redemption required the blood of ChristHow salvation is received through belief of the truth Takeaway The cross was not a reaction to sin—it was the fulfillment of a plan established before creation. God knew, prepared, and provided a way of salvation through Jesus Christ. The question is not whether the plan exists, but whether you have believed it. If you have never trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior, today is the day to believe. He died for your sins, was buried, and rose again the third day so that you might have eternal life. “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13) Read the Companion blog: The Foundation of the World: God’s Eternal Plan of Redemption Through Jesus Christ https://www.biblemysteriespodcast.com/post/the-foundation-of-the-world-god-s-eternal-plan-of-redemption-through-jesus-christ-easter-message Downloadable Study Guide Available for subscribers: Subscribe today at https://biblemysteries.supercast.com The Unlock the Bible Now ministry provides weekly Sunday Bible Studies to help you understand God's word and unlock the secrets found in the Bible. The Battle of God Decoded, Part 1: End Times Deception and Misreading Bible Prophecy - Episode 276

3/30/2026
In Episode 276 of the Bible Mysteries Podcast, Scott Mitchell and John Potts begin a three-part series examining one of the most discussed and often misunderstood prophecies in Scripture—the Battle of Gog found in Ezekiel 38 and 39. With global tensions rising and constant speculation circulating online, many are quick to claim that current events are the direct fulfillment of biblical prophecy. In this opening episode, Scott and John take a step back and address a critical issue first: end times deception. The Bible warns that in the latter days, deception will increase—even among believers. This episode explores how misinformation, social media, and even artificial intelligence are contributing to confusion, making it more difficult to discern truth from error. Scott emphasizes the importance of grounding our understanding of prophecy in Scripture rather than headlines or popular opinion. Through a careful examination of key passages, including 1 Timothy 4 and 2 Timothy 4, this episode highlights the danger of departing from sound doctrine and the rise of teachings that appeal to emotion rather than truth. The discussion also addresses two common errors seen in the church today—those who avoid doctrine entirely and those who add to Scripture by elevating extra-biblical writings. Both approaches lead away from a proper understanding of God’s Word. A central focus of this episode is the frequent misapplication of Psalm 83 as a future prophetic war. By comparing Scripture with Scripture, Scott shows how Psalm 83 aligns with the historical events recorded in 2 Chronicles 20, where God Himself fought the battle for Israel when His people sought Him first. This episode sets the foundation for the rest of the series by establishing a key principle: we must interpret current events through the lens of Scripture—not force Scripture to fit current events. As deception increases, believers are called to hold fast to the Word of God, rightly divide the truth, and remain anchored in sound doctrine. Key Scriptures (KJV) 1 Timothy 4:12 Timothy 4:1–4Psalm 832 Chronicles 20:1–22 Topics Covered End times deception and the last daysThe influence of media, social platforms, and AI on discernmentThe importance of sound doctrineTwo extremes within the modern churchMisinterpretation of Bible prophecyPsalm 83 and its historical contextTrusting God over worldly systems Takeaway Deception in the last days is not just about false information—it is about departing from truth. Absent from the Body: The Believer’s Immediate Presence with Christ

3/29/2026
What happens the moment a believer dies? Are Christians asleep in the grave awaiting the resurrection, or are they immediately with the Lord? In this message, Scripture is compared with Scripture to answer a question many believers wrestle with: Where are the saints between death and the rapture? Looking at passages from Psalms, the Gospels, Paul’s epistles, and Revelation, this study clarifies the biblical teaching on the state of the dead in Christ. The Bible reveals that death for the believer is not a period of unconscious waiting, but a transition into the presence of the Lord. From Abraham’s bosom to the third heaven, and ultimately to the promise of a glorified body, this message lays out the full picture of what awaits those who are in Christ. This is a study grounded in the hope, comfort, and certainty given in God’s Word—that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Prayer and the Hebrew Understanding: Interview with Jeff Dodson - Episode 275

3/23/2026
In Episode 275 of the Bible Mysteries Podcast, we examine prayer and consider insights from Hebrew understanding while testing every idea against the authority of Scripture. In this final part of the Comprehending Four Dimensions series—following wisdom, knowledge, and worship—we turn to prayer and what the Bible reveals. Prayer is one of the most familiar practices in the Christian life—and yet one of the most misunderstood. In this final installment of the Comprehending Four Dimensions series, we turn to Scripture to define what prayer truly is and how it functions in the life of a believer. Building on the previous “dimensions” of wisdom, knowledge, and worship, this episode focuses on prayer as an essential part of God’s design for relationship with Him. But rather than relying on personal interpretation or new ideas, we compare every concept with the full counsel of Scripture. The Bible does not leave prayer undefined. It gives clear instruction: we are told to ask, seek, and knock. We are told to make our requests known to God. We are told to pray according to His will as revealed in His Word. At the same time, this episode addresses an important question: Is prayer simply accepting whatever God has already determined? While God’s will is perfect and unchanging, Scripture shows that prayer is not passive resignation—it is active, intentional communication with God. Throughout this discussion, we emphasize the importance of testing all teaching—whether based on language study, personal insight, or tradition—against the authority of Scripture. No single perspective can stand apart from the clear pattern given in the Word of God. Prayer is not redefined by modern thought. It is revealed by God. Key Topics Covered The fourth dimension of prayer in God’s designWhat the Bible clearly teaches about prayerAsking, seeking, and knocking (Matthew 7:7)Praying according to the will of God (1 John 5:14)Why Scripture—not interpretation—defines prayerTesting every teaching against the Word of God Key Scriptures 1 Samuel 1:17-28Romans 8:26-28Philippians 4:6Matthew 6:9–10Matthew 7:71 John 5:141 Thessalonians 5:21John 17:17 Series Context: The Four Dimensions WisdomKnowledgeWorshipPrayer Each dimension builds on the last, forming a biblical framework for understanding how God relates to His people. Dispensational Attacks Explained: The Biblical Truth About the Dispensation of Grace

3/22/2026
In this message from Unlock the Bible Now, we address the growing criticism surrounding dispensational teaching and return to Scripture to examine what God actually says. Are dispensations a man-made system—or are they revealed in the Word of God? This lesson walks through key passages to show that the concept of dispensations did not originate with modern theologians, but with the Apostle Paul. We look at how God’s dealings with mankind have changed over time, and why understanding those changes is essential to rightly dividing the Word of truth. You’ll see the clear distinction between Israel’s kingdom program and the dispensation of grace given to Paul, along with the mystery that was hidden in previous ages but now revealed—that salvation is available to all men, Jew and Gentile alike, through faith in Jesus Christ. We also address common misunderstandings behind dispensational attacks, including confusion about the law, the covenants, and the role of modern Israel. Scripture makes it clear: salvation today is not through the law, rituals, or religious systems, but by grace through faith. This message is a call to return to the simplicity of the gospel and to stand firmly on what the Word of God declares. In This Episode, You’ll Learn: What a dispensation is according to ScriptureWhy dispensational teaching comes from the Apostle PaulThe difference between Israel’s kingdom message and the gospel of graceWhat the “mystery” revealed to Paul means for believers todayWhy salvation is by grace without the lawHow Israel’s fall opened the door for Gentile salvationThe truth about modern Israel and God’s future planWhy many attacks on dispensationalism stem from misunderstanding Scripture Key Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 9:17Matthew 10:5–7Matthew 15:24Romans 11:11–26Colossians 1:24–27Ephesians 2:11–19Ephesians 3:1–9Romans 3:19–24Ephesians 1:9–111 Timothy 1:3–6 Final Thought: The gospel for today is clear—Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again. Salvation is offered freely to all who believe. Don’t be distracted by arguments and traditions. Stay grounded in the Word, and trust what God has revealed. A Far Country: The Hidden Prophecy of Christ’s Return - Episode 274

3/16/2026
What does the Bible mean when it speaks of a “far country”? At first glance, the phrase simply seems to describe a distant land. But when this expression appears throughout Scripture, it begins to reveal something far deeper. In this episode, Scott and John trace the phrase “far country” through the Bible—from the Old Testament prophets to the parables of Jesus—to uncover a powerful prophetic pattern. Beginning in Isaiah 13, the prophecy concerning the burden of Babylon describes an army gathered by the Lord that comes “from a far country, from the end of heaven.” While this passage includes the historical destruction of Babylon by the Medes and Persians, it also points forward to something far greater: the future judgment of Mystery Babylon and the return of the Lord in the Day of the Lord. As the study unfolds, several key passages reveal how this phrase connects to God’s prophetic timeline. The first appearance in Joshua 9 shows how the idea of a far country represents great distance and long travel. Solomon later speaks of strangers who come from a far country seeking the God of Israel, hinting at the inclusion of the Gentiles. Then the phrase appears again in the parables of Jesus, where a nobleman or householder travels to a far country and later returns to settle accounts with his servants. These parables reveal a prophetic picture of Christ’s rejection, His departure to heaven, and His future return to judge the world and establish His kingdom. Finally, the study connects these passages with Revelation 19, where heaven opens and Christ returns with the armies of heaven to defeat the forces of the beast. The sanctified ones and mighty ones described in Isaiah may point to the heavenly host—both angelic armies and the saints returning with the Lord. Throughout Scripture, the phrase “far country” consistently points toward heaven itself—the place Christ ascended after His rejection and the place from which He will return. For believers, this is more than a study of words. It is a reminder of a promise: Christ has gone to a far country—but He is coming back. True Freedom: Finding Peace Amidst Uncertainty and Turmoil

3/15/2026
In times of global uncertainty, rising tensions, and economic instability, many people are searching for freedom and peace. But the freedom the world offers is temporary and fragile. Governments change, economies collapse, and circumstances can shift overnight. Scripture reveals a deeper truth. True freedom is not found in political systems, financial stability, or personal independence. According to the Word of God, true freedom is found only in Christ. In this Bible study message, Scott examines what the Scriptures teach about spiritual liberty and why believers can possess genuine peace even in the midst of chaos. Drawing from passages such as Acts 16, John 8, Romans 8, and Philippians 4, this message explains how believers are made free from the power of sin and death through Jesus Christ. Paul and Silas demonstrated this reality when they prayed and sang praises to God after being beaten and imprisoned. Though their bodies were confined, their freedom in Christ remained untouched. The same is true for believers today. When we understand the liberty we have through the gospel, we can face troubling times without fear. Our freedom does not depend on the stability of this world but on the finished work of Jesus Christ. This message reminds us that even when persecution, hardship, or uncertainty arise, the peace of God can guard our hearts and minds through Christ. This teaching was originally recorded in December 2023 and remains just as relevant today as the world continues to wrestle with turmoil and uncertainty. Key Scripture References Acts 16:16–25 John 8:31–36 Romans 6:15–18 Romans 8:1–23 Galatians 5:1 Philippians 4:4–9 2 Thessalonians 1:4–10 In This Message What the Bible means by being “made free” in Christ • Why true freedom is spiritual, not political • How believers can have peace during uncertain times • Why persecution has always accompanied the gospel • The future glory awaiting those who trust Christ Listen and Study With Us The Unlock the Bible Now ministry provides weekly Sunday Bible Studies to help you understand God's word and unlock the secrets found in the Bible. Torment or Annihilation?: Days of Noah meets Bible Mysteries (Part 2) - Episode 273

3/9/2026
In this second part of our duocast with Pete Ohlinger from the Days of Noah Podcast, we continue examining one of the most serious and debated doctrines in Scripture: the nature of hell. Does the Bible teach eternal conscious punishment, or do the lost eventually cease to exist through annihilation? Building on the foundation laid in Part 1, Scott and Pete dig deeper into key passages that describe the final judgment, including the Lake of Fire, the Second Death, and the Great White Throne judgment. Along the way, they discuss how Scripture interprets Scripture, why context matters when studying words like eternal and everlasting, and how Jesus Himself warned repeatedly about the reality of hell. The conversation also addresses common arguments used to support annihilationism and compares them with passages that describe unending punishment. Special attention is given to the words of Jesus in Mark 9, the account of the rich man and Lazarus, and the prophetic descriptions found in Revelation. This discussion is not about winning a theological debate—it is about faithfully examining what the Bible says and allowing Scripture to shape our understanding of God’s justice, mercy, and the eternal consequences of rejecting the gospel. Join us as we conclude this important conversation and consider what the Word of God reveals about eternity. Acts 15 Explained: Did Jewish Believers Still Keep the Law?

3/8/2026
One of the most debated questions in the Book of Acts is whether the Jewish believers in Jerusalem continued living under the Law of Moses after believing in Jesus Christ. Acts chapter 15 records a major council in Jerusalem where the apostles and elders gathered to address a serious dispute: some believers were teaching that Gentiles could not be saved unless they were circumcised and kept the Law of Moses. Was this teaching correct? Were the early Jewish believers still obligated to keep the law? Or had something fundamentally changed with the death and resurrection of Christ? In this lesson, we examine the Scriptures that clarify the relationship between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. From the words of Peter, Paul, and the prophets, the Bible reveals that the Law of Moses was never meant to provide righteousness—it served as a schoolmaster pointing to Christ. When Jesus shed His blood, He fulfilled the law and established the New Covenant. Because of that finished work, believers today are not justified by the works of the law but by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Join us as we walk through the key passages that explain why Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Key Scriptures Acts 15:1–11Jeremiah 31:31–34Matthew 26:26–291 Corinthians 11:23–262 Corinthians 3:6–17Romans 10:1–4Hebrews 7:11–22Galatians 3:19–25Colossians 2:13–17 In This Lesson Why Acts 15 became a turning point in the early churchWhat Peter meant when he called the law a “yoke”Why the Old Covenant had to be replacedHow the New Covenant was established through Christ’s bloodWhy Jesus could not serve as High Priest under the Law of MosesWhat Paul meant when he said Christ is the end of the lawThe true purpose of the law in leading people to ChristWhy believers today live in the liberty of the New Covenant A Final Thought The Law of Moses revealed sin but could never remove it. Through His death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus Christ fulfilled the law and brought in a better covenant—one based on grace, righteousness, and the power of the Spirit. If you have never trusted Christ as your Savior, the invitation still stands: “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” And for those who are in Christ, Scripture reminds us to stand fast in the liberty we have in Him and not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Eternal Torment or Annihilation? (Part 1): Pete & Scott - Episode 272

3/2/2026
In this special Duocast episode, Scott is joined by Pete Ohlinger of The Days of Noah Podcast for a thoughtful and biblical discussion on one of the most debated doctrines in Christianity today: Is hell eternal? Recent public conversations among well-known Christian voices have revived interest in the doctrine of hell — specifically the debate between eternal conscious torment and annihilationism (conditional immortality). What does the Bible actually teach? In Part 1 of this two-part discussion, Scott and Pete: Introduce their ministries and the purpose behind their podcastsDiscuss the growing trend of doctrinal shifts in modern ChristianityDefine eternal conscious torment and annihilationismExamine whether immortality is inherent or conditionalExplore whether unbelief is the core issue in eternal judgmentAddress the justice of God and the nature of divine punishmentConsider the “age of accountability” questionBegin examining key passages in Revelation concerning the Lake of Fire This conversation is not about controversy for its own sake — it is about returning to Scripture and carefully handling what God has revealed. As always, we approach this topic with humility, recognizing that while this is not a salvation issue, it is a serious theological one that deserves careful study and discernment. What Does “Eye Hath Not Seen” Really Mean? (The Mystery Revealed)

3/1/2026
What did Paul mean when he wrote, “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard…”? This verse is often quoted as a poetic reference to heaven—but in its full context, it speaks of something far more specific. Paul was not pointing to imagination. He was declaring a mystery once hidden in God and later revealed by the Spirit. In this lesson, we examine: The full context of 1 Corinthians 2Paul’s citation of Isaiah 64The connection between loving God and waiting for HimWhat it means to “love His appearing”The mystery revealed to Paul in Ephesians 3How Jew and Gentile are made fellow heirs in ChristWhy loving God includes loving your brotherWhat God has prepared for those who believe The phrase “Eye hath not seen” does not mean God left us uninformed. The hidden wisdom of God has now been revealed through the gospel. The mystery is that salvation is available to all—Jew and Gentile alike—through faith in Jesus Christ. To love God is not merely to say it. It is to believe on His Son, proclaim the truth, endure in faith, and look for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Christ is coming. The mystery has been made known. And what lies ahead surpasses anything the human heart has conceived. Key Scriptures 1 Corinthians 2:6–10Isaiah 64:1–5Matthew 22:36–40Titus 2:11–132 Timothy 4:1–81 John 4:7–211 Thessalonians 1:2–10Ephesians 3:1–11 The Gospel If you have never trusted Christ, believe the gospel. Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again the third day for your justification. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. If you are saved, love His appearing. Let it be known. The Book of Enoch Examined, Part 3: Canon, Intercession, and the Test of Scripture - Episode 271

2/23/2026
In this final installment of our series on the Book of Enoch, Scott Mitchell examines one of the most important questions of all: does the Book of Enoch meet the biblical standard for Scripture? This episode focuses on three critical issues—canon, intercession, and biblical authority—and compares the claims of the Book of Enoch directly against the Word of God. Scripture is clear that God has promised to preserve His Word, that Jesus Christ alone is our intercessor, and that angels are ministering spirits, not mediators. We also look at what the Bible actually teaches about access to the heavenly realm, why Christ’s sacrifice is central to that access, and why the Book of Enoch’s descriptions do not align with the timing and structure of redemption laid out in Scripture. The Book of Enoch may be historically interesting, but history is not inspiration. In this episode, Scott lays out why the early church was right to reject it from the canon—and why believers should test every extra-biblical writing against the preserved Word of God. In This Episode, You’ll Learn Why God’s promise to preserve His Word matters when testing any bookWhat Scripture teaches about who can intercede—and who cannotWhy angels are ministers, not mediatorsHow the Book of Enoch conflicts with the Bible’s teaching on judgment and intercessionThe difference between Ezekiel’s and John’s visions of God’s throne—and why timing mattersWhy access to the heavenly throne is only possible after Christ’s atoning workHow Hebrews explains when the way into the holiest was truly openedWhy the Book of Enoch fails the biblical test for inclusion in the canon Key Scriptures Discussed Psalm 12:6–7 – God’s promise to preserve His WordGenesis 6:5–8 – God’s judgment on the wickedness of manIsaiah 53:10–12 – The Messiah as intercessorHebrews 7:24–25 – Christ ever lives to make intercessionRomans 8:26–27 – The Spirit’s intercession for the saintsHebrews 1:4–14 – The nature and role of angelsPsalm 8:3–8 – Man’s place in God’s orderPsalm 115:16 – The heavens are the Lord’s, the earth given to menEzekiel 1:26–28 – Ezekiel’s vision of God’s throneRevelation 4:1–8 – John’s vision of the throne in heavenHebrews 9:6–12 – When the way into the holiest was made manifestJob 4:18 – God charging His angels with folly Summary The Bible does not leave the question of authority open-ended. God has preserved His Word, and He has revealed a clear structure for redemption, intercession, and divine order. When the Book of Enoch is tested against that standard, it falls short—especially in its teaching about angels, intercession, and access to the heavenly realm. This episode concludes the series by showing why the Book of Enoch should be treated as historical literature, not Scripture—and why believers must keep the canon grounded in what God has preserved and promised. Is the Bible Really the Living Word of God?

2/22/2026
Many believers affirm that Jesus Christ is the Word of God—but what about the Bible itself? Is Scripture truly God’s Word, or is it only a human record of spiritual ideas? In this lesson, Scott Mitchell responds to a listener’s question and examines what the Bible says about its own authority. From the Gospel of John to the writings of Paul and Peter, Scripture consistently presents itself as God-breathed, trustworthy, and unbreakable. Key Scripture Passages Referenced John 1:1, 14 – The Word was God, and the Word was made fleshJohn 10:34–35 – “The scripture cannot be broken”2 Peter 1:16–21 – A “more sure word of prophecy” and the origin of Scripture2 Timothy 3:14–17 – All Scripture is given by inspiration of GodPsalm 12:6–7 – The Lord preserves His wordsLuke 24:44–46 – Christ opens the understanding of the Scriptures1 Corinthians 15:1–4 – The gospel according to the ScripturesActs 17:2–3, 10–11 – Paul reasons from the Scriptures; the Bereans search them dailyRomans 16:25–26 – The mystery made known by the Scriptures of the prophets2 Peter 3:15–16 – Peter recognizes Paul’s writings as Scripture1 John 4:1–3 – Test the spirits1 Corinthians 2:6–13 – Spiritual things are discerned by the Spirit and compared with ScripturePsalm 138:2 – God has magnified His Word above His name What This Study Covers The biblical meaning of “the Word” (Logos) and its connection to ScriptureWhy Jesus treated Scripture as the authoritative Word of GodHow the apostles used Scripture to prove the gospel messageWhy Scripture is called “God-breathed” and what that means for believersHow God preserves His Word and why it remains the standard of truthWhy every spiritual claim must be tested by Scripture The Bible does not present itself as a collection of religious opinions. It presents itself as the written, preserved Word of God. The same Scriptures that testify of Christ also reveal the gospel that saves: that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures. This message explains why Christians can confidently say the Bible is the Word of God—and why that truth remains central to faith, doctrine, and daily life. The Only Begotten Son of God: The Biblical Meaning of Jesus Christ’s Humanity and Divinity

2/15/2026
What does the Bible mean when it calls Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of God—and why does that phrase matter? In this message, Scott walks carefully through Scripture to show that “only begotten” is not a theological relic or a poetic expression, but a precise biblical truth that points directly to the incarnation, the cross, and the gospel itself. This study explains why Jesus had to be born of a woman, why He had to enter the human experience, and why only a true man could die for men—while still being fully God. By comparing Scripture with Scripture, we see how the Bible uses “only begotten” to affirm both Christ’s humanity and His divinity without confusion or compromise. You’ll also hear a clear biblical response to modern objections about the phrase “only begotten,” including the question of Isaac and Abraham, the meaning of promise, and why this language is essential to understanding salvation by grace through faith. In this episode, you’ll learn: What “only begotten Son of God” actually means in ScriptureWhy Jesus had to be born in the flesh in order to die for sinnersHow the Bible shows Christ to be fully God and fully manWhy Hebrews, Romans, Galatians, and John all point to the incarnationThe biblical meaning of “propitiation” and why it matters for salvationHow Isaac and the promise illustrate God’s plan in ChristWhy changing this phrase weakens the clarity of the gospelWhat it means to truly believe on the only begotten Son of God Key Scriptures: John 1:14, 18John 3:16–18Romans 1:3–4; 3:23–26Galatians 4:4–7; 3:26–29Hebrews 2:9–18; 4:14–15; 11:171 John 4:9–10 Main Takeaway: Jesus Christ did not merely appear as a man—He was born into the human experience so He could suffer, die, and become the perfect sacrifice for sin. The phrase “only begotten Son of God” protects this truth and keeps the gospel exactly where God put it: in a real Savior who really died and really rose again.
