The entire village of Middelpos is heading to auction, giving one buyer the chance to own an authentic piece of the Karoo. Located on the R354, halfway between Sutherland and Calvinia, the town is a well-known halfway stop for travellers heading to the Tankwa Karoo National Park. According to Home & Hectare, the village is one of the last remaining places of its kind in South Africa. "With its tranquil, enchanting atmosphere, original character and charm, it retains the cultural heritage of long ago, untouched by modern mass tourism," said Home & Hectare. The property spans 103,260 hectares and is said to have great potential for business, residential development, manufacturing and tourism.
