When Faith Feels Fragile | Sunday Message

5/4/2025
Even when your faith feels fragile, you don’t have to sink. When we look to Jesus rather than our feelings, we can be held steady—whether through loss, personal failure, or other sufferings where faith just seems impossible to hold on to. Notes: Focus verse - 1 John 1 #1 Faith can be shaken, but you don’t have to sink. Faith can be shaken and feel fragile by painful events. God did not give up on Elijah, Jonah, David, or Peter. And He’s not giving up on you either. #2 1 John was written to give assurance to believers. “I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.” 1 John 5:13 (NLT) We need truth. We need the word of God. We’ll never be unshakable if we’re not rooted in God’s unchanging truth. Bible promises: God began a good work in you He will complete it. God is the author and finisher of our faith. Salvation is God’s work from beginning to end. #1 God is light. 1 John 1:1–2:2 #2 God is love. 1 John 2:2:3–4:21 #3 God is life. 1 John 5 Read 1 John 1:1–4 John said that for three years they gazed, they stared, and they beheld Jesus. #3 To have unshakable faith, you need to look to Jesus. Jesus will sustain you and be with you. #4 When you look to Jesus, your life will be filled with joy. Sin promises joy—but it produces sorrow. #3 When you find something wonderful, you want to share it. The best kind of witness is the overflow of a Christ-filled life. #4 The obstacle to joy is unconfessed sin. Read 1 John 1:5–7 Real faith is proven by obedience. “Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil in Your sight.” Psalm 51:4 (NKJV) If you fall into sin, you have no one to blame but yourself. James 1:14–15 There is always a way out of temptation. God’s light does not expose you to shame you. It exposes you to heal you. #5 The way to be forgiven of your sin is to confess it. 1 John 1:8–10 Confession is saying, “God, You’re right and I’m wrong.” “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Hebrews 8:12 (NKJV) You’ll find that His mercy is greater than your mess. His grace is deeper than your guilt. --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org. This podcast is supported by the generosity of our Harvest Partners. Jesus and the Great Commission | Sunday Message

4/27/2025
As Christians, seeing someone make a profession of faith is one of the best things we can experience. But today, Pastor Greg Laurie forces us to stop and think: when is the last time it was me inviting someone to take that step? And he reveals that not sharing your faith can actually be a sin. The Great Commission is for every follower of Christ. Get the encouragement and insight you need to embrace God's calling. Notes: Focus verse - Matthew 28 God has called every believer to preach the gospel and make disciples. "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.” Mark 16:15 (NLT) Read Matthew 28:18–20 #1 Jesus gave a command. #2 These words are for every follower of Jesus Christ. #3 God will give us the power and boldness to fulfill the Great Commission. To “go and make disciples” means to lead others to Christ. #4 To not share your faith can be a sin. A sin of omission is not doing what you should do. James 4:17 The fate that awaits the nonbeliever is worse than a housefire. It’s eternal fire. Go into all of your world and share the gospel. FRAN-gelism Friends, Relatives, Associates, Neighbors #5 Christ has the answer to emptiness, loneliness, guilt, and the fear of death. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 (NKJV) No matter who we are, we all have sinned. Romans 3:23, 1 John 1:8 Christ died on the cross for us, so we don’t have to face hell. Romans 5:6–8 #7 We are not just called to preach the gospel, but to make disciples also. Matthew 28:18–20 God’s truth is meant to be shared, not hoarded. “He [Jesus] is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.” Colossians 1:28 (NIV) Bring a nonbeliever or new believer to church with you. The Christian life is a race. "Now when David had served God's purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed.” Acts 13:36 (NIV) --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org. A New Day Dawning | Easter Sunday Message

4/20/2025
As Christians, we do not have to fear death—because Jesus Christ defeated it. Easter was the death of death; it died when Christ rose! This Easter, hear Jesus as He says, “Don’t be afraid.” Notes: Focus verse - Matthew 28 #1 The world is full of fear. We live in a scary, frightening world. It’s an age of anxiety and global fears. There are personal fears too. Everyone has a fear of death. #2 Because Jesus rose from the dead, we no longer need to live in fear. Psalm 90:9 #3 The resurrection of Jesus replaces fear with faith. Read Matthew 28:1–10 The disciples were filled with fear and uncertainty after the crucifixion of Christ. Jesus came with the express purpose of dying on the cross and rising from the dead. Jesus is concealed in the Old Testament and revealed in the New Testament. Jesus told His disciples He would suffer and die and then He would rise again. Death does not have the last word—Easter does. Death died when Christ rose. Easter is the death of death. A Christian will never die spiritually. Jesus said, “You must be born again.” John 3:7 (NLT) God’s plans are better than yours. Turn your panic into prayer, your worry into worship, and your fear into faith. "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water." So He said, "Come." Matthew 14:28–29 (NKJV) Faith gives way to fear. Trust gives way to worry. Peter sank because he was afraid and took his eyes off Jesus. When we are sinking, we need to call out to Jesus. Matthew 14:30 Death does not have the final word—Jesus does. A new day can dawn for you today: #1 Realize that you are a sinner. #2 Recognize that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sin. #3 Repent of your sin. #4 Receive Jesus Christ into your life. #5 Do it now. --- Learn more about Greg Laurie and Harvest Ministries at harvest.org. When Heaven Was Silent | Good Friday Message (Pastor Jonathan Laurie)

4/18/2025
If you have ever felt like Heaven was silent, you’re not alone. Even Jesus Himself cried out, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” But here's what we’ll learn this Good Friday as we reflect on Jesus Christ’s ultimate sacrifice: it’s often in the silence that God is doing His greatest work. Notes: Focus verse: Matthew 27:45–54 (NLT) #1 The Cry Met With Silence #2 The Plan Behind the Silence Isaiah 53:5–7 (NLT) The silence from Heaven wasn’t indifference. The silence from the cross wasn’t weakness. It was fulfillment. #3 The Purpose of the Silence John 19:28–30 (NLT) Support the show: https://harvest.org/support See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
