The traditional school day is no longer enough to fully meet the needs of all of our youth, especially those experiencing a learning gap. Underserved youth need more time for academic practice, more connection to a network of caring adult mentors, and more access to quality learning experiences outside of the school day.​ At On the Road Collaborative, they believe it’s about meeting every young person where they are. By offering additional out-of-school learning opportunities and connecting them to resources and caring adults, we can journey with them as they go after their biggest goals.

Will and Langdon Reid of Wilson Fairchild stopped by to discuss Happy Birthday USA in Staunton July 3-4. The event that has its origins way back in 1970 with the Harold and Don Reid (Will and Langdon's dads) of the Statler Brothers has a goal each year to celebrate America’s birthday in the same family-oriented and wholesome tradition of food, fun, music and fireworks that Staunton has come to love since the very first Statler organized celebration in 1970.

June is Wound Care Awareness Month. Its a great time to learn more about the Sentara RMH Wound Healing Center for chronic wounds. The occurance of chronic wounds has increased greatly since the center opened in 2013. Find out what to look for and know you can self refer to the center.
